SUMMARY:Introduction to Home Sewing: Tote Bag Workshop (Sat 2/27 10-1 pm)
DESCRIPTION:This beginner level class will get you comfortable with sewing from a home sewing pattern.  (Student must have ability to thread sewing machine prior to starting class.) This class teaches you how to cut out a pattern\, make sense of the instructions\, and construct a finished item. You’ll walk away from this course with a completed tote bag made entirely by you. The sewing pattern used in class is yours to keep for future projects.    For this class you will need to supply: (All fabric should be washed and pre-shrunk)    Tote: 3⁄4 yard heavier-weight fabric for outside of bag and 1⁄2 yard lighter-weight cotton fabric for inside lining of bag\, matching thread.    Limited notions (zippers\, thread\, pins\, etc) are available at Owl & Thistle at an additional charge.    **Note: Classes may be cancelled due to low enrollment.

DESCRIPTION:    This introductory sewing class is our most basic class for those wanting to learn how to use a sewing machine. This 2 hour workshop will get you comfortable threading a machine\, winding a bobbin\, and using a machine to make basic straight or zig zag stitches. We will also discuss useful tools in home sewing.  You’ll walk away from this class with cloth napkins made by you and lots of practical knowledge!    For this class the STUDENT PROVIDES:     1/2 yard of a light weight\, woven cotton pre-washed\, pre-shrunk   Matching thread    Choose 1 time slot. The class meets once for 2 hours.
